Cold Sore Causes

Cold Sores are caused due to a virus called Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) have two types of viruses called as type 1 and type 2, and both these types of viruses causes Cold Sores. Type 1 of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is found commonly which is responsible of causing Cold Sores but Type 2 of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is found in genital herpes and these type of virus is found very rarely.

Cold Sore Causes

Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1) is most common factor which causes Cold Sores, Majority of people in age groups three to five are exposed to Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1). A person can infected by Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1) in many ways like getting in contact with a person who is infected by Cold Sore, ingesting polluted fluids that have been sneezed or spluttered into air, or by using the objects which a person have used who have been infected by Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). Most of the people are infected by Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1) at early stages in their life, they don’t get affected by first cold sore until after puberty, and once the person have been infected by Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1) the virus remains in their body for rest of their life.

Herpes Simplex Virus – 2 (HSV – 2) is very rare as compared to Herpes Simplex Virus – 1 (HSV – 1). Herpes Simplex Virus – 2 (HSV – 2) mostly causes genital herpes, and it only affects our body portion below waist but sometimes uncommonly it can cause Cold Sores.

The person who face terrible cold, flu or any other type of disease which affects immune system can lead to cause Cold Sores.

Only Physical factors are not responsible to cause Cold Sores, it might also cause by emotional stress or staying constantly upset, fatigue. All these factors influences our immune system and makes it weak, which makes our body difficult to fight the outbreak. Some people might get infected by Cold Sores rarely but some might get infected by it much more regularly. It is also said that to overcome from Cold Sores there is no treatment and therapy.
